Weirdcore’s uncanny aesthetic is not for the faint of heart.
For Crack Magazine’s 173rd issue, the publication collaborated with
@weirdcoretv — the anonymous visual artist best known for Aphex Twin’s
live A/V tour visuals — to produce a series of exclusive augmented
reality artworks.
The project extends Weirdcore’s distorted visual language into three
dimensions, with bespoke 3D assets and a custom-built Unity AR experience
developed for the Crack XR app. Activated through the printed magazine,
the imagery breaks free from the page and occupies physical space, blurring
the boundaries between editorial, digital, and spatial media.
